1,000 Consecutive Days On Snow

If all goes smoothly, Rainer Hertrich will enter the Guinness Book of World Records tomorrow, July 27, by logging his 1000th straight day on skis. The 45-year-old telemark skier began his quest on November 1, 2003. To count as a day on the slopes you must “put on your skis and ski,” Hertrich said.
A snowcat driver at Cooper Mountain, Hertrich travels north and west at seasons end, skiing at Utah’s Snowbird Resort, Tamarack, Idaho and finally Mt. Hood’s Palmer Glacier where he skis into the summer months before flying to Chile and Argentina for the southern hemispheres winter season.
The ultimate ski bum, Hertrich has skied at 26 resorts, braved temperatures as low as -20 Fahrenheit, and overcome sickness and frostbite in pursuit of his goal.
Rainer Hertrich is scheduled to log his 1000th consecutive day at Oregon’s Timberline Resort on July 27, 2006.

Still no word on whether Hertrich hit 1,000 days. I called Timberline Resort several times and get their answering machine. Can't find anything online either.
If you hear anything make sure to let us know.
