Vanessa Gets A New Toy

Do you know what the Flybar is? It's a pogo stick that, depending on its style, can bounce up to 6 feet. If you ever have tried a pogo stick (likely when you were a kid), you would be psyched to own one. Skiing Post editor Vanessa Pierce is flying high for that reason. She contacted Flybar to see if the company needed a girl on its freeride team. Now two Flybars are enroute to Jackson Hole where Pierce will bounce around town representing SBI Enterprises, the company to developed the first pogo in 1918.

SheJumps Continues Whether $25,000 Richer Or Not

It’s been a year-long process to become an Ullr Girl: putting up a profile; asking all my friends to go out of their way to vote online; making it all the way to Whistler and being welcomed by the greatest Swedish family (thanks Sven and Amanda) who let us crash at their place for 10 days; sliding a rail for the first time in my life; going to the best apres ski ever with all of the Ullr Girls laughing and wrecking shit while Meg and Grete flung peppers into Sarah’s beer. Then there was skiing with an all-girl posse for the first time and loving every second of it.

Jon Olsson Wins The PlayStation Big Air Contest In Whistler

For an hour, the skiers jammed the jump, showing the crowd their best tricks. When the judges deliberated, it was Olsson, JF Houle, and Tanner Rainville who made it through to the last round. That meant a number of favorites were out: Dumont, Sammy Carlson, Steele Spence, Charles Gagnier, Charley Ager, and back-flipping Tucker Perkins – all out.

Ullr Unleashed Party Unveils Ullr

Whistler’s Pique newsmagazine was on a mission to determine whether Ullr was a girl, like we all were last week. The reporter took some time to investigate at the Ullr Unleashed party. Hopefully you will be inspired by Lynsey’s quotes. Lynsey will post a blog soon about the contest and results. It was tight, but the winner was Grete Eliassen. Though our hearts were broken, we had the best time and met some of the most amazing women. Stay tuned …
